First Step Alliance

First Step Alliance is a non-profit organization committed to charitable and educational causes that help advance successful re-entry and sustainable financial independence for formerly incarcerated people. We seek to partner with re-entry programs, credit unions and Community Development Financial Institutions to fulfill our mission. Our goals are to: • Empower people through providing access to free educational resources. • Strengthen families and communities by enhancing access to financial services. • Connect with other mission-aligned organizations to increase our reach. • Donate to organizations that support our targeted communities. Our Mission: We are committed to improving the financial lives of formerly incarcerated people and their families. Our mission is to help advance successful re-entry by providing critical access to the information, tools and services people need to achieve financial independence. Our Vision: To make impactful, permanent change to the systemic banking issues faced by millions of formerly incarcerated individuals. Our ultimate goal is to help start a not-for-profit financial institution dedicated to this community.
